We love staying here and have been 3 times. The superior suite is just right for our family of five and we love being able to walk everywhere in town! What a gem.
Great stay at Basecamp Bungalows. It was clean and cozy, and so convenient. We could walk into town, and even see the lake from room. Superior Suite was great for a family with 2 little kids. We will be back!
We spent two nights and this is the cutest little spot! Extra dog-welcoming to those with pups. It’s the perfect cross of a little retro motel and a thoughtfully curated boutique experience. Affordable. Excellent and responsive hosts. 10/10!
Updated and rebooted motel is amazingly implemented! Stayed in "Basecamp". AirB&B quality hosts who are attentive while hands-off. Loved our stay. Well equipped kitchen - full size stove and oven, small fridge, coffee pot (local coffee supplied) and microwave. 2 sleeping areas - 2 bathrooms one full and one 3/4 with about a 2 inch step into shower. Accessible for mobility impaired while not specifically handicapped accessible - doors are a little tight, floor plan is open. Off street parking. Great location to shopping, restaurants, beaches and hiking. Dog friendly. Lawn did not appear sprayed - huge plus for me w/ my dog. Ease of managing pet waste - outdoor can available. Enjoy your stay.
We absolutely loved it here! Such a friendly and wonderful host. He helped us jump our car on the coldest day of the year. And the space was spotless, perfectly curated and conveniently located to everything. We also found the kitchenette quite useful! Highly recommend, we plan to return!
Formerly a motel, this place has been completely renovated top-to-bottom. They have multiple options for the room sizes to accommodate different group sizes. Our room had a single bedroom, with a kitchen and living space with futon in the other room, which worked well for our family of 4. It's cozy and well decorated and the hosts are friendly and helpful. You can walk to downtown and the Gunflint Trail is just up the road a few blocks. It's a good basecamp ;) for hikes and adventures, or just hanging around town.
My husband, dog and I just stayed at Basecamp Bungalows this weekend. It was exactly what we needed. It is dog friendly and a short walk into downtown Grand Marais. Everything is recently renovated with charming decor. The unit has a full kitchen and living space as well as a nice bedroom and bathroom. The owners thought of everything with a binder of information about the area and two drink tokens to Voyager Brewing. The value was exceptional as well. I would definitely recommend staying here if your travels bring you to the North Shore.
The rooms are very nice and clean with everything you need for a fun getaway in Grand Marias. There are many bars/restaurants to check out and plenty of hiking trails to adventure. The hosts were awesome and have lots of recommendations for places to go and see. I highly recommend staying at Basecamp Bungalows!
